About me

My career as an illustrator began in newspapers where I produced infographics, charts and diagrams. As a visual journalist, I worked in the United Kingdom and North America, helping readers understand scientific processes, statistics and news events.

Now based in the UK as a freelance illustrator, I work with magazines, book publishers, design agencies and directly with clients in business and industry.

In recent years I've created product illustrations and system diagrams for a number of clients. Scientific and medical diagrams also make a regular appearance on my project schedule. In collaboration with design and communication agencies I've produced icon sets, building layouts and event plans to aid visitor navigation and on-site movement.

So today, my portfolio is more diverse than ever. I enjoy producing a wide range of work and with every project I'm able to draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience as an illustrator and infographic designer.

I create illustrations in a range of styles, often adapting the work to fit a particular subject, publication or brand. If it's not already obvious, I'm passionate about creating illustrations and infographics that help clients to communicate and engage with their customers. Producing a clear design, that allows people to access and understand information, is central to my work process.

Several of my newspaper projects for The Globe and Mail received awards of excellence from The Society for News Design under the category of Information-Graphics and Charting.
